B is for Baby
With a subtle book and paper theme the Paper and Style Co team set the tone for the event with the invitation, being simple, but beautiful with both rustic and modern elements it gave guests an idea of what to look forward to on the day.
The intimate setting is perfect for your closest friends to get together and celebrate the mother to be. There’s no need to go out if your Mum to be is more comfortable at home, recreate this look in any backyard, courtyard, or verandah.
Individual sized apple pies (complete with a ‘B’ for Baby) are the sweetest touch and a lovely treat placed on each setting, complete with a sweet note thanking each guest. They’re just the first course in a feast of sweets including succulent and meringue topped cupcakes. Ice cold mineral water and blueberry limonata were served as refreshing beverage, with raspberries and blueberries to top off a delicious drink. If you don’t have dispensers, you can recreate this at home with tubs of ice filled with bottles of soda water and bowls of berries, lime, and other fresh fruit. It’s always a nice indulgence!
The book page party table backdrop and book page chandelier continued the theme in the space, and we loved the large concrete letter ‘B’ for Baby. This backdrop is such an easy and effective DIY. Just visit your local Salvos and pick up some old books, or if you can’t quite bring yourself to pull a book apart photo copy pages and cut them out. Give photocopied pages a weathered look with a gentle crumple and light coat of brewed tea. Trim and glue to a large sheet of foam core for a rigid backdrop that you can re-use, or hang in Baby’s room with pictures of the day as a sweet memento!
