How to Make Chocolate Coated Oreo Balloons

Our chocolate coated oreo balloons are the perfect party treat for any theme, just change the colour to match! We love them for themed circus and carnival themed food, like the party we featured in Issue Six of Sweet Magazine!

Chocolate Coated Oreo Balloons

You’ll need

White chocolate and Oil based food colouring for chocolate, or
Pre-coloured candy melts,
This chocolate mould from Confectionately Yours, and
Palette knife or spatula.


Add your white chocolate to a microwave safe bowl and microwave on low power for thirty seconds, stir well, and repeat until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted. Add a small amount of colour until your chocolate is the colour you’d like. If you’re using pre-coloured candy melts, melt according to the instructions on the packet. Add a small amount of chocolate to one of the cavities in your mould, don’t fill the mould more than half way.


Add an oreo into the centre of the mould and press down to centre the oreo in the chocolate balloon.


Add excess chocolate to the top of the oreo to completely encase it. Tap the mould to remove any air bubbles.


Repeat with different colours.


If you overfill your mould, use the flat side of your palette knife to scrape away the excess chocolate and smooth the back of your chocolate oreo balloons!


Tada! Chocolate coated oreo balloons!
